Explore the aspects of the ancient Greek theater, with this alternative interactive workshop. Learn about the theater in classical Athens, write scenes in ancient Greek rhyme, and perform your own lyrics (in English). An exciting and fun experience reviving the ancient Greek drama in the footsteps of Aeschylus, Sophocles and Euripides.

Open Air Theater on Philopappos Hill - Arakinthou, Athina, Greece

We will begin with a short introduction to the Greek Ancient Theater. We will talk about its origins, the writers, the types of plays and the play structure. Then you will learn how to write lyrics in ancient greek rhyme. You will practice your knowledge right away as you will write the lyrics for specific scenes of a famous greek tragedy. Next, you will perform your own writing, and you will have the opportunity to wear authentic costumes, if you prefer (at extra cost).
